NEW YORK, April 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "Miens of Existence" is the coming together of two stories that take the reader on adventurous journeys of the mind and heart. Through a blending of genres - science fiction, memoir, fantasy and spirituality - the book delves into deep questions about the nature of reality and the power of love. It leaves the reader to speculate about whether these might be revelations from some place unknown or simply the product of an imaginative or warped mind.
In the first story, "The Matter of Mind," a man laments the impending empty nesting by his son. As the story transitions from chapter to chapter, his surroundings, time and, most strikingly, his son continue to change. What is happening to him… or to reality?
The second story, "The Force of Will," follows a man who becomes aware of his innate ability to consciously escape threatening dreams. He begins to wonder about the nature and potential of dreams and their relationship to consciousness. The man begins an increasingly perilous series of experiments, searching for the truth about existence and the reach of love.

About the Author
Now retired after forty-two years in the education field, as a teacher, administrator and teacher educator, Alan M. Weber is announcing the publication of his fourth book, Miens of Existence. His first, published under a pseudonym, is a multi-media memoir called Integrating the Chapters of a Life. Following that, he published Not for Hurting, a children's book that tackles the delicate subject of war. Returning to his roots in political activism, his next work, The Wedge, was a fictional exposé of the corruption, lies, and reliance on scapegoating and wedge issues used to manipulate the American electorate. And now we have a different kind of fiction, more psychological and metapsychological, with Miens of Existence. He is already working on his next book, another children's book called What Kimi Discovered, which devotes itself to the stereotyping and miseducation regarding Indigenous Americans that so commonly goes on in America's schools during the period from Columbus Day to Thanksgiving. Alan has also written and published essays in the field of education, most notably "The Misdirection of Modern American Education," which appeared in the May, 2014 edition of Education Digest, as well as assorted poetry.
