New Online Course for Aspiring Writers Opens for Enrollment
NEW YORK (PRWEB) August 14, 2018 -- The New York Institute of Art and Design is introducing a brand new online Creative Writing Course. This is the twelfth online certificate program offered by NYIAD, the world’s leading provider of online education for creative professionals.
Students who enroll in the New York Institute of Art and Design’s Creative Writing Course will learn the secrets of effective fiction writing – such as how to develop dynamic characters, an engaging plot, and realistic settings. Throughout the program, students will complete a variety of writing assignments that put their skills to the test and allow them to practice the techniques they will learn. These assignments are submitted online and critiqued by one of NYIAD’s writing teachers, all successfully published authors themselves.
The course will cover both short stories and novels, giving students a well-rounded creative writing education that they can use to pursue their dream of getting published themselves. It was written by Stephanie Grant, director of the MFA Program in Creative Writing at American University and author of two novels, The Passion of Alice and Map of Ireland.
“They say everyone has a book in them, and this course was designed to help students put their story on paper,” said Jacob Boller, NYIAD’s Director. “The most important part of any young writer’s development is feedback from published authors, and this course provides that in spades.”
