New Ruth Bader Ginsburg Short Biography Published
Applewood Books Publishes New Short Biography Featuring Justice Ginsburg
CARLISLE, Mass., Dec. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Applewood Books, a Boston-area publisher, is today releasing a new biography of Ruth Bader Ginsburg as part of the publisher's Short Biographies series. "A Short Biography of Ruth Bader Ginsburg" has been written by Antonia Felix, who previously authored a larger photo-biography of Justice Ginsburg, "The Unstoppable Ruth Bader Ginsburg: American Icon." Felix, a New York Times bestselling author and opera singer, has written other well-known biographies of women leaders, including Sonia Sotomayer, Elizabeth Warren, and Condoleezza Rice.
"The Short Biography of Ruth Bader Ginsburg" is the first in the Short Biographies series covering a living subject, and the project would not have been possible without Ginsburg's approval. Ginsburg recommended Felix, a fellow opera lover, as the author, and the Supreme Court Justice later contributed to the editing process of the manuscript.
The Short Biographies series editor, Susan Deland wrote the following on working with Ginsburg: "Justice Ginsburg is a stickler for accuracy and detail. She was responsive and collaborative in the biography project, clarifying details of her story. She hand wrote her comments on the manuscript. She straightened out her family tree. She made sure that the name of her beloved husband Marty's cookbook was correct. She tweaked a legal term. Next to a sentence describing her as a barely five-foot tall baton-twirler, Justice Ginsburg wrote in the margin, "5'3" (I've lost inches growing old)." RBG has been delightfully engaged with our journey publishing this book about her remarkable life."
Applewood Books' Short Biographies series tells the stories of the lives of prominent people, including artists, writers, and political figures. These biographies explore diverse and intriguing lives in a compact form. With the Applewood Standards classic hardcover design, the small pocket-size trim makes for easily digested and informative biographies.
