New Veterans Start Up Accelerator for DC Residents
OFBV Network and DC Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs will offer a free business start up accelerator program for veterans, military spouses and caregivers
WASHINGTON, Nov. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Open For Business Ventures Network (OFBV) and DC Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs will offer a free business start up accelerator program for veterans, their caregivers and military spouses in the Washington, DC area.
In the effort to increase veteran, caregiver and military spouse entrepreneurship, the DC Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs will start The Veteran Business Startup Network in partnership with Open For Business Ventures, LLC. The first program under this initiative is the Veteran Startup Accelerator Program. The Veteran Startup Accelerator Program is a six-day course to help new entrepreneurs acquire necessary startup skills to launch a business. The course will convene over a two week period from Monday – Wednesday, December 3rd – 5th & December 10th – 12th from 9:00am – 3:00pm at 441 4th Street, NW Washington, D.C. 20001.
At the end of the course, the top four startup plans created during the course will share awards totaling $2,000.00 for their business venture.
The workshop is free to veterans, caregivers and military spouses, but only 25 seats are available for this start up accelerator course. About DC Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs
The Office of Veterans Affairs was created in October 2001. The office was established to provide veteran benefits, assistance, information, outreach, effective advocacy, claims processing assistance and service provider coordination to veterans and their families so that they can access their entitled resources and benefits. The office also develops, coordinates and attends veteran commemorative events that recognize the military service and sacrifice of District of Columbia veterans.
