NEW YORK, June 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- New York City artist Alicia Angel announced that hundreds of dollars have been raised to benefit the NYC Health + Hospitals COVID-19 Relief Fund through the sale of "Kindness Not COVID" postcards.

The postcards feature a print of an original painting by Angel depicting a New York City healthcare worker as an angel with wings and an augmented reality experience that can be activated with the free mobile app Soundwave Art. To play the augmented reality component, users can download and open the Soundwave Art app and place the postcard in view of the smartphone's camera. "I painted the angel healthcare worker because I couldn't stop thinking about how difficult and traumatic it must be for frontline healthcare workers who have been selflessly putting their own lives on the line to care for others during this pandemic. I wanted to create something to honor them," said Angel. "That inspired me to use the image to create postcards for people to send to words of kindness and encouragement to each other while in quarantine and to stay connected in a more personal way while physically distanced."

To date, more than $500 has been raised through the sale of the Kindness Not COVID animated postcards to benefit the NYC Health + Hospitals COVID-19 Relief Fund. The postcards are priced at $5.00 and are available online at http://www.etsy.com/shop/kindnessnotcovid.
