New book emphasizes the importance of giving back to community after reaching a better living status
Donald Sharief releases second book 'Give back to your ethnic community'
YONKERS, N.Y., March 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Donald Sharief reminds the African American community who have reached a more comfortable status in life to observe the importance of giving back to their ethnic groups in his new book "Give back to your ethnic community" (published by AuthorHouse).
Sharief highlights in his book how African Americans have come a long way from slavery. Back in the 30s, they were not as free as they are today. They were at the bottom of the system and were destined to be poor. "We did not have the money to build our own community," Sharief says.
Looking at today's situation, African Americans have built that community they longed to have. Many of them have strived to reach all the way up. However, as Sharief noticed, some of them who have become rich forgot to turn around and give back to their communities.
In "Give back to your ethnic community," Sharief mentions examples of these selfish acts and praises people who have gone back to their roots such as Jackie Wilson, Nicki Minaj and Oprah.
With this publication, Sharief hopes to make the readers understand the importance of giving and looking back where they came from. "When you are greedy, the ending is never good. In one way or another, you will pay for that sin," he says.
