New magical realism novel uses philosophical ideas to comment on changing human behavior
Authors Rich L. Corsetti and Kevin Thomas announce release of 'The Way Back'
CROTON ON HUDSON, N.Y., Sept. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Richard was giving a tennis lesson at the club where he works to a less-than-talented client when he suddenly awakens in a strange forest. In Rich L. Corsetti and Kevin Thomas' new novel, "The Way Back" (published by Balboa Press), a man, Richard, takes a philosophical journey into a mystical forest where a warrior mentor helps him look inward so he can find his way back home.
As Richard sets out on a quest to find his way back home, he starts taking guidance from the voices in his head he calls his I's. Along the way, Richard meets a Native American guide, Jay, who is also the warrior Eagle Feather. Jay commits to helping him unravel the mysteries of the strange world he has landed in and the world he is attempting to return to. Through Jay's teachings, as well as those of the mysterious Emma, Richard learns he must jettison his I's in favor of his one, true voice. In doing so, he too will become a warrior capable of finding his way home. But, as Richard learns, these I's won't surrender without a fight.
Thomas states, "One of the book's concepts is that structured society has mechanized humanity; that we are all asleep…(Corsetti and I) would like to inspire people to question the way the world works, and to embrace the fact that it may be much more mystical, supernatural and interconnected than most people believe."
