New release memoir 'Bringing Richard Home' tells an inspiring story of love, loss and healing
Pat Sponer Paholsky recounts her 60-plus relationship with her husband and her journey through grief after his death
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich., Dec. 14, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pat Sponer Paholsky ventures in the world of publishing to share her true story of love, loss and healing within the pages of "Bringing Richard Home" (published by Balboa Press).
It is 1955 when 17-year-old Pat Sponer first met 16-year-old Richard Paholsky at a wedding. In this retelling of their courtship, marriage, and life together until his death in 2018, the author shares insight into their relationship that includes entertaining tales about their travels together on Route 66 a few days after they were married, their experiences in California during the '60s, and later in Michigan as they started a family. Within her short vignettes, she leads others through her memories and life with Richard including the time leading up to his diagnosis, death, and her eventual journey through grief after he was gone. Throughout her story, Pat provides hope for anyone suffering a loss that healing comes with reflection, gratitude and time.
"This is a love story blessed with overwhelming gratitude," the author shares. "My husband, Richard, was larger than life in so many ways. He lived life out loud and he laughed often."
"Bringing Richard Home" is written to inspire others who are grieving and give a voice to their irreplaceable and easily forgotten memories. In this fast-paced, chaotic society, Pat and Richard's story hopes to remind readers to slow down and learn to live in the moment and all the little moments that make life special.
