Nonrenewable Energy is No Longer a Threat to Solar Power
Nicki Zvik, Founder of Green Solar Technologies, shares thoughts on solar's dominance in the energy industry.
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Fossil fuels and other nonrenewable forms of energy have dominated the energy industry since longer than most of us can remember--powering our homes, businesses, transportation, and so on. And for a very long time, it seemed that nothing could compete with these toxic means of producing power. That is, until now.
The solar industry has been on the rise for quite some time, and leaders in energy are finally expressing that solar is no longer an afterthought. Rather, solar energy is the leading form of energy with almost no threat from fossil fuels.
Nicki Zvik, Founder of Green Solar Technologies, states, "It was only a matter of time before solar energy received the recognition it deserves. With the road the world is headed down, there is only one way to go: green."
While solar power only makes up 2% of the world's energy, that number is set to swiftly increase. According to an article published on Fortune, Christian Rynning-Tønnesen, CEO of Statkraft, the Norwegian renewable producer, stated, "'Solar will be the biggest source for electricity on the planet from 2035,'...adding that his calculations show renewables accounting for 80% of electricity production by 2050."
But why is there so much confidence in the solar industry?
For starters, the world is heading towards a greener and cleaner future with countries like the U.S. striving toward a 100% carbon-free future both for the benefit of the environment and the global economy. But more than this, the world realizes that solar energy is not just a fad. Instead it's a necessity.
"Sooner or later, fossil fuels are going to run out," shares Nicki Zvik, "so it only makes sense that the world would plan accordingly. But even though we could still go on powering Earth with nonrenewables, there's no need to continue polluting Earth with harmful toxins when we have everything we need given to us by the sun. And because we will absolutely need to rely on solar energy in the future, it's best for us to take advantage of it as much as possible right now and continue to make advancements, making the technology more efficient, reliable, and cost-effective for our future."
