CLEVELAND, Dec. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- OEConnection LLC (OEC), a leading technology employer in Northeast Ohio, is proud to announce that Katherine Golden, Chief Technology Officer at OEC, was honored in Crain's Cleveland Business as a 2018 "Notable Woman in Technology." The publication recognized the Northeast Ohio area's top female leaders in the technology space in a special section of the publication on November 12.
Golden was recognized for her efforts in developing and cultivating the global technology organization at OEC which includes 375 tech employees in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific by leading integration efforts during the acquisition of Clifford Thames Ltd. in 2017. She has also led crucial technology initiatives to ensure OEC remains a best-in-class SaaS provider, including an organization-wide transformation to Agile methodologies; forming a Risk and Compliance department to address security issues, most recently with the implementation of GDPR policies; working toward ISO certification in the US to mirror the European operation; and creating a highly-scalable software and QA development organization.
"We are proud of Kathy's achievements since she joined OEC in 2013, including leading the growing technology organization, overseeing the transformation to Agile, and most recently, rolling out a large, global technology upgrade," said Chuck Rotuno, Chairman & CEO of OEC. "She's also a tremendous asset to the Northeast Ohio tech community as a whole. Her dedication to generating excitement about technology with the next generation through local tech camps ensures that our region will have a robust talent pool for the foreseeable future. She is very well deserving of the Notable Women in Tech recognition."
Golden is a member of the Regional Information Technology Engagement (RITE) Board, serving as Chairperson of the Governance and Finance Committee, and donates her time to the tech community in conjunction with OHTec, Women in Tech, Baldwin Wallace University, TechCorp and local coding camps.
"Kathy is a 'walk-the-talk' kind of leader who has lived up to every expectation set for RITE Board members," said RITE Board Director and fellow honoree Courtney DeOreo. "Kathy is passionate about inspiring the next generation of women in technology. She is a true stellar leader in tech who not only does her job internally but also sees today's technology leader as a powerful force in community transformation."
Other recognitions in Golden's distinguished career include Crain's "40 Under 40" award and Crain's "CIO of the Year" finalist in 2016. She has also been awarded several US patents for dynamic pricing technologies at OEC.
