OPALESCENCE is a solo exhibition, debuting new works from Dallas artist, Nita Patel's 2020 "Opal Series". This series examines the shimmer, sparkle, and fire of the Opal and the depth and color variations that naturally occur within the stone. Her new works concentrate on exposing multiple layers of paint and color, thus enhancing 3-dimensional textures, which reflect and intensify the natural play-of-color process. The results are as stunning as the stone and produce a final pseudoachromatic optical effect of flashes of light reflected compositions.
"I've always regarded the Opal as one of the most beautiful and intoxicating gemstones. It's full of love, variety, mystery and passion, each stone telling a distinctive story with flashes of light and color" said Patel.
Nita's "Opal Series" explores the play-of-color phenomenon specific to this gemstone. Opals shine with the colors of the rainbow as you twist and turn the stone in white light. The compositions contained within Nita's paintings emulate the brilliance of this gems remarkable phenomenon.
The opening night reception will be held Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 6-10pm at The FGIII Gallery at Kings Club Dallas: 2218 Bryan Street, Dallas, TX 75201. Wine and hors d'oeuvres provided by Sunflower Catering with live music performed by Daniela Castro. This exhibition is curated and produced by FGIII Fine Art Productions.

Nita Patel is a speaker, author, and artist who believes in modern etiquette as a path to becoming our best selves.
