Ophthalmic Instruments, Inc. Expands Sales and Service in Northern California
New Territory Representative to help company become more environmentally friendly with the implementation of eco-friendly ride share sales services
HAYWARD, Calif., July 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ophthalmic Instruments, Inc., a leading distributor of quality ophthalmic instruments, today announced the expansion of its sales and service support for Northern California, specifically the San Francisco Bay Area, with the addition of Territory Representative, Christian Gillis. Gillis, a graduate of San Francisco State, brings sales, management and marketing experience in the telecom industry to the company. In his new role, Gillis will provide dedicated sales and support for Ophthalmic Instruments, Inc.'s customers in the southern portion of the San Francisco Bay Area.
With the addition of Gillis, Ophthalmic Instruments Northern California office also plans to implement increased use of the Bay Area's public transportation system and the eco-friendly rideshare services wherever and whenever possible. This will help to reduce automobile-produced carbon emissions and make the company more environmentally friendly.
According to a recent NBC Bay Area report, the Bay Area is among the most polluted regions in the nation when it comes to categories that scientists say contribute to climate change. The "State of the Air 2018" report from the American Lung Association gave three out of the nine Bay Area counties a failing grade for ozone pollution.
"Christian is responsible for what we are calling the Highway 880 & 580 corridor," said Dusty Mapson, Director of Ophthalmic Instrument's Northern California Operations. "Christian will use BART and the eco-friendly rideshare services wherever and whenever possible to cut down on emissions produced by driving and sitting in traffic. Our initial goal is to cut emissions related to his territory responsibilities by 30 percent. As we continue to expand, Christian will assure we continue to provide the same level of support our customers are used to, increase our physical presence in the Bay Area, and in doing so help us begin the steps to becoming a more environmentally friendly and efficient company."
