NEW YORK and NETANYA, Israel, Dec. 15, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A new report – Apple AirPods Max: One Year Later – released today by Revuze, the provider of AI-powered consumer insights for the world's biggest brands, highlights AirPods Max had a 57% consumer sentiment score and a 3.92 average star rating, with pricing noted as one of the barriers to positive consumer sentiment. Consumers also weighed in with complaints about the product's comfort and weight.

Apple released its AirPods Max on December 15, 2020, just in time for last-minute Christmas shoppers. One of Apple's highest-end options in the AirPods line-up, it debuted with a whopping $549.00 price tag and raised eyebrows for its peculiar design.

One year later consumers have tried the product and compared it with its main competitors, such as Sony's WH-1000XM4 and Bose 700.

Artificial Intelligence at Work – Indexing and Analyzing Product Insights

Overall, the AirPods Max performed worse than the category average (59% sentiment and 4.01 star rating).
Pricing and value for money were the product's main pain points, resulting in a related 38% sentiment score, as opposed to the hierarchy average of 55%.
AirPods Max performed poorly in relation to comfort, with consumers complaining about the product's weight, the earpad's material, and the overall fit. Consumer sentiment in relation to comfort was 71%, 4 points lower than the category average.

Analysis of Consumer Opinions Influences Product Development

Product managers and brand marketers at companies like Apple can use Revuze's insights to identify their product's strengths and weaknesses, see what consumers are saying about them, and ultimately make mission-critical decisions about new products or future enhancements.

Methodology
The Apple AirPods Max: One Year Later results came from an analysis of over 12,000 consumer opinions on wireless headphones published on Amazon US and Amazon UK throughout Q3 in 2021. Sentimate relies on proprietary algorithms and unique artificial intelligence (AI) to perform the data analysis — from collection to classification — achieving a level of speed, granularity, and accuracy that no common algorithm could reach. The products considered for this study were priced at a minimum of $75.00. This data helped to benchmark Apple's AirPods Max against their product category (on-ear headphones) and individual competitors. Consumer sentiment is the percentage of positive opinions over the total number of opinions expressed on the product or on a specific topic regarding the product.
