P2 Science Launches New Patented Renewable Aroma Chemical
Herbenone™ is a herbal top note, created from sustainable forestry-derived feedstock using patented green chemistry
WOODBRIDGE, Conn., May 4, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- P2 Science, Inc. (P2), a leading green chemistry company, announced the launch of a new herbal top note aroma chemical, Herbenone™. Herbenone imparts herbal, anise, fresh basil and slight jasmine notes to all types of cosmetics and personal care products. Like other P2 products, Herbenone is built on P2's proprietary green chemistry platform. As such, it is derived from upcycled forestry feedstocks from Forest Stewardship Council certified pine trees.
Commercial production of Herbenone is underway at P2's state-of-the-art green chemistry manufacturing facility in Naugatuck, CT. Samples and product literature are available on the company's website, and Herbenone can be purchased directly from the company's e-store – also on the website.
Master Perfumer, Tony Reichert commented on Herbenone, "I think it would work really well in any herbal fragrance." He added Herbenone "would really work well in citrus fragrances to give a more natural read on the top." Additional applications include transparent florals, fougéres – especially for men's toiletries, soaps, creams and shampoos.
The Herbenone launch represents the 12th green-chemistry based product to be commercialized by P2 since April 2020. Herbenone also falls under P2's Plant-a-Forest initiative, where P2 plants a tree for every kilogram of product sold. Each tree removes about 1 ton of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere during its life.
