PacStar® Announces Collaboration with Engage Black to Power Secure Wireless Command Post (TLS) for Classified Communications over Wi-Fi and LTE
PORTLAND, Ore. (PRWEB) September 24, 2018 -- PacStar today announced a collaboration and reseller agreement with Engage Black, for the Black Vault Hardware Security Module (HSM), a FIPS 140-2 Level 3+ certified device providing generation, storage and management of secure cryptographic keys. The collaboration combines technologies powering the PacStar Secure Wireless Command Post (TLS) – a fully integrated, expeditionary communications solution with two layers of encryption, using commercial technologies, eligible for use in transmitting classified information over wireless networks. The solution will be unveiled and demonstrated at Modern Day Marine, which takes place September 25-27, 2018 in Quantico, VA.
Last year, PacStar launched its pioneering PacStar Secure Wireless Command Post (Wi-Fi) to provide high-speed wireless for mobile devices, at Wi-Fi distances, typically a few hundred feet. With the addition of LTE, PacStar now enables warfighter mobility at much greater distances, measured in thousands of feet or several miles from the cellular base station – much like consumers are able to roam using LTE for daily activity.
To make this possible, Engage Black created a custom, full featured Black Vault HSM package that integrates directly into PacStar SWCP (TLS), providing a seamless and complete solution. Black Vault HSM provides security services backing the online certificate authorities provided by Information Security Corp, also onboard SWCP (TLS). The inclusion of Black Vault HSM enables the expeditionary communications programs to have a complete, self-contained PKI infrastructure that works even in a denied WAN environment. The combination of solutions is designed to meet new government requirements for use of LTE radios in commercial solutions for mobile access, site-to-site, and WLAN configurations.
