PacStar® Announces Collaboration with Perspecta Labs to Power Secure Wireless Command Post (TLS) for Classified Communications over Wi-Fi and LTE
PORTLAND, Ore. (PRWEB) September 24, 2018 -- PacStar today announced a collaboration and reseller agreement with Perspecta Labs, the innovative research arm of Perspecta Inc., for SecureIO client and SecureIO Gateway. The collaboration combines technologies powering the PacStar Secure Wireless Command Post (SWCP TLS) – a fully integrated, expeditionary communications solution with two layers of encryption, using commercial technologies, eligible for use in transmitting classified information over wireless networks. PacStar will leverage the Perspecta Labs SecureIO technology to provide a layer of transport layer security (TLS) encryption for classified communications. The solution will be unveiled and demonstrated at Modern Day Marine, which takes place September 25-27, 2018 in Quantico, VA.
Last year, PacStar launched its pioneering PacStar Secure Wireless Command Post (Wi-Fi) to provide high-speed wireless for mobile devices, at Wi-Fi distances, typically a few hundred feet. PacStar SWCP (TLS) now enables warfighter mobility at much greater distances, measured in thousands of feet or several miles from the cellular base station – much like how consumers are able to roam using LTE for daily activity.
To deliver these new capabilities, PacStar’s solution combines innovation from PacStar’s core hardware, software, network systems and cybersecurity engineering teams, together with technology from several enterprise-grade networking/communications OEMs – integrated into a complete, turnkey solution. Secure IO from Perspecta Labs is one such key component. SecureIO is a TLS-based client technology running on Android devices, with a matching application gateway providing a layer of encryption protecting wireless transmissions. SecureIO provides application libraries and VPN clients enabling simple integration, as well as groundbreaking support for multicast over classified wireless networks. The SecureIO client has completed common criteria testing and is eligible for use in solutions for classified networks.
