Parabricks Unveils New GPU Accelerated Secondary Analysis Software for Rapid NGS Data Processing
ANN ARBOR, Mich. and SAN DIEGO, Oct. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- ParabricksTM announced today the launch of its software suite for performing high-speed genomics data analysis by harnessing the power of graphics processing units (GPUs). The software suite accelerates secondary analysis of next generation sequencing (NGS) data to analyze whole genomes in less than 45 minutes, compared to about 30 hours. Dr. Mehrzad Samadi, co-founder and CEO of Parabricks, and Dr. Ankit Sethia, co-founder and Technical Leader at Parabricks will be presenting this groundbreaking software at the American Society of Human Genetics 2018 Annual Meeting in San Diego October 16-20.
By using GPU accelerated computing, the Parabricks solution can provide the throughput comparable to nearly 40-50 CPU servers using only one GPU server, thereby reducing IT overhead as well as reducing time and costs.
