Pathbuilders Celebrates Landmark Number of Percepta® Graduates
ATLANTA (PRWEB) July 02, 2018 -- Pathbuilders, an organization that provides cross-company mentoring programs, company-specific programming, and gender diversity strategies to Atlanta-area organizations, celebrated the graduation of its 17th Pathbuilders Percepta® class. More than 80 women from more than 30 companies graduated from the Spring 2018 Pathbuilders Percepta program on June 12, 2018.
Percepta is a group mentoring program focused on helping women who have mastered the technical aspects of their jobs and are ready to have a greater impact on their organizations. The program leverages a proven methodology that integrates mentoring, educational workshops and peer exchange. Though only six months in duration, the impact on participants is recognizable immediately. The Percepta program has impacted the lives of a thousand-plus women who have had significant impact on their organizations.
“During my time in the program, I received a promotion. I was able to use the information from each session to help me navigate and grow in my new role,” said Theresa Falker, human resources manager at WestRock.
Women who participated in the program covered a core program curriculum including developing a corporate image and persona, building credibility and influence, mapping career paths, managing results, learning to lead by learning to follow, and understanding the unwritten rules that guide an organization.
Tuesday’s graduation provided an opportunity for mentees and mentors alike to celebrate their successes and accomplishments throughout the course of the program. A highlight of graduation is the recognition of an Outstanding Mentee Group.
“From day one, it was evident that my mentees were excited, engaged, and passionate about investing in their personal development. As the months progressed, the preparation for the sessions increased, and the discussions with each mentee deepened. Over the course of the program, the women on my team have been promoted or given additional responsibility and direct reports and have gained the confidence to speak up,” Erin Gossett, director of sales enablement-impact management at Cox Communications shared about her mentees.
Gossett’s mentees are Ashley Wood, senior director of finance at Equifax, Maura Pruett, account director at Digitas, and Lara Lambert, communications coordinator at WestRock.
Inversely, mentees have the opportunity to nominate a mentor as Outstanding Mentor of the program. Each year, there are mentors who go above and beyond to make Percepta an even more impactful experience for their mentees. Yvette Thibodeaux, senior principal consultant at Pinnacle Strategy & Business Consulting, was selected as the Outstanding Mentor for the Spring 2018 Percepta program.
“I am so fortunate that what I did for nineteen years at Verizon Wireless, I am now able to do for free for the women of the Percepta program,” Thibodeaux said. “These women have yielded a significant return on their company’s investment in them and have inspired me as a mentor! I am truly honored to have been recognized by them.”
Thibodeaux, former director of marketing and business transformation at Verizon Wireless, was nominated by each of her three mentees who, during the six-month program, received a promotion or gained additional responsibility.
“I could not have asked for a better mentor than Yvette,” wrote ShaDonte Butler, community development business manager at Federal Home Loan Bank. “Her passion and enthusiasm for helping others is evident to everyone she meets. Her guidance will forever benefit me – professionally and personally.” Butler’s peers included Chastity Cook, human resources generalist at Scientific Games, and Keisha Franklin, human resources manager at PowerPlan.
The amazing group of Percepta mentors all positively impacted their mentees both personally and professionally, developing them to be better leaders. Percepta mentors are typically alumna of the Achieva program, Pathbuilders’ one-on-one mentoring program for mid-level executives from leading Atlanta organizations.
“The Percepta program is set up so well,” shared Secret Holland, director of human resources and community affairs at Gas South. “The curriculum is packed full of relevant topics, and the structure of each session is so well organized. The Pathbuilders team does an outstanding job of making sure each mentor is well-equipped, so they are able to make the most of their time with their mentees.”
The 1,000-plus mentees who have graduated from the Percepta program demonstrate solid track records of improved performance upon completion. Participants from companies such as Turner Broadcasting System, Cox Communications, Holder Construction Company, Verizon Wireless, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, and Junior Achievement of Georgia have shared professional successes and organizational impact which results in recommendations for colleagues and additional direct reports to participate in the Percepta program year after year.
