PocketSuite Research: Solopreneurs Making $100K+ Rely on SMS for Scheduling, Payments, and More

The data shows that solopreneurs send 99 SMS messages for every one email to conduct business. Additionally, more than three-quarters of business transactions among the top earners (>$10,000 monthly) are conducted via SMS.
The Prevalence of SMS
PocketSuite's research into thousands of solopreneurs' communication habits revealed that 99 percent of all business communications for solopreneurs are sent via SMS. This includes 77 percent of all business transactions for the most successful individuals, who are earning more than $120,000 annually. SMS is also critical for the solopreneurs with the largest client volume, with 88 percent of transactions conducted via SMS. Texting is also proving critically important among solopreneurs as a group, being used to book 89 percent of all appointments.
How the Pros Are Using It
Most professionals who spend the day away from a desk are using SMS to conduct more than 90 percent of their business transactions. The convenience of texting is particularly important for this diverse group including estheticians, fitness trainers, yoga and pilates instructors, dog trainers, cleaners, contractors, massage therapists, stylists and more. Even some desk-bound professions rely on SMS more than 90 percent of the time, including consultants and life coaches. Conversely, those relying more on email are professions that often require desktops and work with large files, such as graphic designers and videographers.
