RIC Centre Becomes Altitude Accelerator, Scaling Innovation to New Heights
Peel's regional innovation centre rebrands after 13 years serving businesses and scaling startups.
BRAMPTON, Ontario, Sept. 28, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- For the past 13 years the regional innovation hub for Peel Region, known as RIC Centre, has helped entrepreneurs, startups and tech companies overcome challenges by providing programs and mentorship that support growth and scalability. This month, RIC Centre has taken on a new identity, rebranding to Altitude Accelerator.
The new identity was revealed virtually at Canada's Innovation Corridor Summit on September 21.
"People-first and community-driven, our organization provides honest and straightforward advice for companies to grow faster. I'm proud to announce Altitude Accelerator, to support tech entrepreneurs to scale to new heights."
— Pam Banks, Executive Director, Altitude Accelerator.
The RIC Centre was one of the earliest players in the startup and innovation ecosystem in Peel Region. It has paved paths and fostered founders, often behind the scenes, supporting them with a strong foundation for the climb to bring their innovative idea to market or scale their growing business to the next level.
During the pandemic, the organization moved to a new space in the emerging Brampton Innovation District. There has never been more opportunity for collaboration and growth within the innovation ecosystem, and Altitude Accelerator will continue to play a leading role.
"This change will help reaffirm our role within the evolving ecosystem. The organization will continue to serve our current clients and continue to run our current programs under this new brand."
— Shirley Speakman, Chair, Altitude Accelerator & Senior Partner, Cycle Capital.
