RK Logistics Group to Sponsor Tri-Valley Manufacturing Day
FREMONT, Calif. (PRWEB) September 20, 2018 -- RK Logistics Group, a Silicon Valley leader in third-party logistics (3PL), has signed on as a sponsor and exhibitor for the 2018 Tri-Valley Manufacturing Day and Exhibit. The annual event, slated this year for October 5, is a collaborative effort between local educational institutions, participating manufacturing businesses, and the cities of Livermore, Pleasanton, and Dublin.

RK Logistics has three warehousing operations in the Tri-Valley exclusively supporting the area’s manufacturing businesses with inventory management, product staging, clean-room facilities and just-in-time delivery programs for production lines. The three sites encompass some 450,000 square feet of warehouse space with over 550 employees.
At one Livermore facility, RK employs autonomous delivery robots for moving goods from order processing to shipping, as well as a sophisticated “vertical lift” inventory system. The system, which houses thousands of parts in a three-story tall unit with dozens of rotating storage bins, automatically delivers parts to a single point, where pickers can complete assembly of orders without walking throughout the warehouse.
The company’s support for Manufacturing Day is part of its overall community outreach program engaging local secondary and post-secondary institutions, noted Kalune. Under this outreach program, the company participates in annual career days at Tri-Valley high schools and hiring events at Los Positas College. An internship program provides students with initial employment featuring custom-designed work hours to meet individual needs while in school. For graduates, RK also offers job training tailored for individuals seeking their first job.
