Realtor of Advantage Group Announces Fundraising for New Directions of Myrtle Beach Homeless Shelter
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (PRWEB) June 15, 2022 -- Local Myrtle Beach realtor is announcing a fundraising push for New Directions of Myrtle Beach Homeless Shelter. After writing a personal check of $1,000 for the shelter, Barber is launching a GoFundMe Page for his upcoming Half Ironman event, where all proceeds will go directly to New Directions.
Barber has been inspired by the work being done at New Directions, which is the largest provider of shelter services in Horry County, South Carolina. The state of homelessness in the area is dire (much more than Barber realized), so Barber decided to use his upcoming Ironman event to do some good for the community.
“The goal of my GoFundMe page will be to raise at least $100 for each mile of the 70.3 required to finish the ½ Ironman,” explains Joel Barber.
“I started with the $1,000 personal donation to get the ball rolling. Working within this community, I know how generous people can be. Supporting New Directions can quite literally save lives,” continues Barber.
Joel Barber plans to have a fundraiser event later in the summer and will be pushing to drum support up until race day this fall.
