According to research firms, the worldwide records management market was worth approximately $1.5 billion in software license and maintenance revenue in 2018, an increase of 7% from 2017. The records management market is still somewhat underdeveloped. Just over 50% of organizations worldwide have implemented this technology and fewer having deployed it on an enterprise scale. The technology and the merging of records management and data management have created an even greater opportunity.
The future commercial application of machine learning classification techniques records authority generation and matching to the records management problem is significant and unsolved. Globally the market for records management is over $2B USD, with the broader Content Services market valued at over $10B USD (Gartner, 2018) while the compound rate of growth of the underlying content to be managed is estimated at over 61% YoY, and predicted to increase from 33 zettabytes in 2018 to 175ZB by 2025 (IDC, 2018).
The potential application of the technology currently in development, and in deployment, is multifold and aligned with RecordPoint's vision of reducing the complexity of Records Management. RecordPoint is proud to be leading this new wave of growth with pride in where we do it, in Melbourne, Victoria.
