Renowned POW To Speak At Verve, A Local Church
Charlie Plumb believes lessons from Vietnam captivity can keep Vegas Strong
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On Sunday, November 11, and Monday, November 12, Captain Charlie Plumb will speak during weekend services at Verve Church, 7850 Dean Martin Drive, Las Vegas.
After being shot down in the Vietnam War, Plumb survived more than five years of torture as a Prisoner of War alongside John McCain. He's confident that what he learned through that experience can help Vegas locals continue to grow their resiliency.
Ahead of his visit to Verve, Plumb said, "Whether it's a daily routine, or a communist prison camp, or showing resilience after an evil attack on the city of Las Vegas, each of us has the choice to succeed, to fail…or to become the victim of circumstances."
Vince Antonucci, Lead Pastor of Verve Church, is excited to bring Plumb's message to the city. "Over the last year, Vegas has proven its unmatched ability to overcome great adversity in the face of painfully dark circumstances. Plumb's experience is a perfect fit for this season of strength," Antonucci explains.
Service times at Verve Church are 9:00am, 10:30am, and Noon on Sunday, and 7:00pm on Monday. All services are free and open to the public.
Founded in 2010, Verve calls itself a church for people who don't like church. Learn more at vivalaverve.org.
