San Diego Center for Autism Expands to Support Growing Need
SAN DIEGO (PRWEB) September 07, 2018 -- Autism is a developmental disorder affecting more than 3.5 million Americans’ ability to communicate and socialize with others. Given how widespread autism is (approximately 1 in 68 people have the disorder), chances are you know someone on the autism spectrum. The ability to diagnose autism at an early age is key to a child’s progress. In his 1999 Mental Health report, former U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. David Satcher, identified ABA therapy as an effective treatment for children with autism, stating:
"Thirty years of research demonstrated the efficacy of applied behavioral methods in reducing inappropriate behavior and in increasing communication, learning, and appropriate social behavior."

The San Diego Center for Autism – Rancho Bernardo is holding an open house for their grand re-opening to unveil the newly renovated, state-of-the-art ABA center. The open house will take place on November 10th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM and will include a free carnival for local families. There will be free games and activities for children, food, and a prize raffle, including a family four-pack of tickets to the San Diego Zoo. The Center’s Senior Clinical Director, Sarah Torgrimson, encourages parents to bring their families to tour the new facility and meet the staff: “We are looking forward to meeting many new families at the open house and will be happy to answer any questions they may have about autism and center-based ABA therapy.”
