San Diego Symphony Announces First-Ever FitFest at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park
In partnership with FIT Athletic Club, the San Diego Symphony will host a free fitness festival – featuring a variety of activities and entertainment for attendees of all ages and abilities – at their waterfront park and concert venue. The Challenged Athletes Foundation joins the effort to drive inclusion and introduce adaptive sports opportunities
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 20, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, the San Diego Symphony announced it will host FitFest, a celebration of physical fitness at The Rady Shell in partnership with FIT Athletic at the Symphony's waterfront park and venue, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. FitFest will take place Sunday, November 6 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The entire 3.7 acre park and surrounding area will be filled with a variety of health and wellness activities and leading local vendors. Free and open to the public, FitFest is part of the San Diego Symphony's ongoing commitment to offer access to The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park year-round. As a local resource and adaptive sports leader, the Challenged Athletes Foundation joins the team to bring awareness and opportunity to make this day of fitness accessible to athletes with physical challenges.

At the first-ever FitFest, attendees will have the opportunity to exercise and browse top-of-the-line health and wellness offerings from vendors in the park's unrivaled setting along the San Diego Bay. Vendors exhibiting at the event include Raw Botanics, NOMADIX, MURF Electric Bikes, NOCCO, LSKD and more. FIT Athletic will bring star instructors with passion and enthusiasm for fitness at all levels, leading activities that are challenging, yet accessible, that incorporate the park and venue. Classes include yoga, bootcamp, HIIT and circuit training, and a group run. Festivities also include a dance party, free throw contest, kid's zone and other lawn games and activities designed to engage the community and inspire an active, healthy lifestyle.
During the event, Challenged Athletes Foundation will provide information about adaptive sports opportunities for attendees. Physical activities during the day will bring awareness to the adaptive equipment or modifications that provide an inclusive experience. Attendees of all abilities and ages are encouraged to participate in the day.

While FitFest is the first festival of its kind at this location, the San Diego Symphony and FIT Athletic partner regularly to host monthly yoga classes on The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park lawn, including their first-ever Pride Yoga Event that attracted thousands of attendees. The Symphony funded the revitalization of Embarcadero Marina Park South with fitness equipment and a basketball court, along with the construction of their permanent waterfront venue with the goal of gifting the city a public space for connection and engagement via the arts and beyond.
Attendance at FitFest at The Rady Shell is free, however event registration, as well as registration for each class and activity will be required for participation. Food and beverage offerings will be available from vendors such as Urban Kitchen Group, Biga Pizza, Lola 55, and Kitchens for Good. About The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park
The centerpiece of the 3.7-acre public Jacobs Park developed and managed by the San Diego Symphony on the city's scenic Embarcadero, The Rady Shell is the first permanent outdoor venue in the San Diego Symphony's century-long history, designed to host more than 100 concerts and events year-round. The venue has been developed in partnership with the Unified Port of San Diego with 96% of the $85 million cost raised privately by the Symphony.
