Scenebot and Scenebot Stage Hit More than 100,000 Downloads, Launching 400 Professional Careers, Including Eliza Pryor of the Feature Film "Spinning Man"
LOS ANGELES, July 25, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The creators of Scenebot and Scenebot Stage, popular apps created to democratize the way the entertainment industry discovers new talent, are proud to announce the apps have hit more than 100,000 downloads since Scenebot's original launch in August 2016. To date, Scenebot is responsible for launching more than 400 acting careers, including Eliza Pryor (Spinning Man), Dylan Cole, Zachary Hoffman, and Liv Zamora, with over 125 industry professionals on its platform eager to discover more.
Now, the franchise's growth is set to continue as Scenebot Stage lifts the curtain on STAGE Live, an all-expenses-paid opportunity for selected app members (#Stagers) to perform live for industry executives including talent managers, agents, casting, press, and fans, giving them a chance to be discovered and signed. The first live show will take place at The Hudson Theatre in Hollywood on August 2nd. There, the chosen talent will get the chance to rehearse with professional mentors to fine tune their craft for their performances, and after the show, will attend a networking event with the industry professionals in order to connect one-on-one. These performances will also be featured on a weekly web show premiering mid-August. "We've completely democratized the way people discover talent so anyone with performance skill has an equal chance to be put in front of the industry pros and start their career for free," says Stuart Alexander, Founder and CEO of Scenebot and Scenebot Stage. "By modernizing the talent discovery process, we add ease and convenience for industry professionals, while providing a safe environment for talent to be seen. We're beyond proud of our continued success and look forward to more growth now that STAGE Live has been added to the Scenebot lineup."
Scenebot was founded by husband and wife team Writer/Director Stuart Alexander and Krisha Bullock, casting director of iCarly, Victorious, Henry Danger, and other popular shows, in order to create a place for aspiring actors to learn, submit a monthly audition, and be discovered by agents, managers and casting directors without massive expense.
"The best part about Scenebot is that through our apps, actors and performers are getting an opportunity where they might not have otherwise, without having to pay massive amounts of money," said Krisha Bullock, Co-Founder of Scenebot and Hollywood Casting Director. "Traditionally, people trying to break into the industry are paying for resources or opportunities that aren't giving them an educational component to help them improve their skills or the opportunity to practice before going in front of decision makers. That's why many who get their one shot to audition feel massive amounts of pressure which can hinder their performances. Here, we've changed the way the industry can search for new talent while giving them resources, tools, and a better chance to be discovered."
Traditionally, most aspiring artists don't have relationships with industry professionals before starting the process of breaking into the business. Scenebot's partnerships with top casting directors, managers, and agents help participants gain those connections. Also, Scenebot apps help talent avoid being exposed to scams that ask them to pay exorbitant fees for similar opportunities that Scenebot offers for free.
"I joined Scenebot as a manager soon after it had launched and was amazed when I discovered Eliza Pryor," said Kathy Bridges, Founder and Talent Manager at Bridges Entertainment. "It was so easy to use and easy for me to make contact with her and her parents through the app. Since then, she's been working here in Los Angeles, while her home base is in Dallas. She's been in a Netflix film, a Disney show, she was cast in the feature film, 'Spinning Man,' and has more lined up. It's an exciting time and I'm thankful Scenebot has helped me discover new and undiscovered talent like Eliza and others."
"I learned about Scenebot from an acting workshop I attended and immediately went home to download the app and try it," said Eliza Pryor, Scenebot user and emerging actress. "I posted one video and they chose it to be featured, and it ended up in the top 10 for the month. A few weeks later Kathy Bridges reached out to me and the next thing you know, I was in LA to pursue my dream. The best part is I love how Scenebot is so fun to use. You just record yourself doing a scene and send it out. So easy!"
"Scenebot is an incredible tool because it saves me so much time looking through resumes. I can just cut to the chase, look at videos, decide whether or not the talent is ready, and reach out," said Tina Randolph Cantagonis, Founder and Agent at Eris Talent Agency. "I also see this as a great way to give constructive criticism to aspiring talent, I've even taken time to add comments on kids and adult's videos to help them improve. Fortunately, I've found clients like Dylan Cole. He's a great boy who had a natural ability to do comedy. I found him on Scenebot and signed him immediately. Now he has had meetings at Disney Channel, has been in multiple commercials, and continues to do well."
