Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Converge in the Spirit of Fun at the Festival of STEM Presented By Chevron
Los Angeles (PRWEB) May 22, 2023 -- Chevron presents The Festival of STEM at Discovery Cube Los Angeles (DCLA), LA county’s leading children’s science museum. Festival of STEM is an experiential summer exhibit that allows visitors to play, explore and investigate various scientific fields, in a fun and engaging way that inspires curiosity and exploration. The exhibit will be on display at DCLA from May 27 through September 4, 2023.
Festival of STEM features interactive displays, hands-on experimental activities, and engaging presentations that showcase the wonders of science and the real-world applications of scientific principles. The summer exhibit incorporates fundamental STEM practices (science, technology, engineering and math) that encourage thinking mathematically, making comparisons, experimenting to solve problems and using a variety of methods and tools, to help children think creatively in a fun, playful environment.

Festival of STEM visitors will embark on a series of STEM-based stations that explore different themes. Each station offers a unique set of adventurous activities and challenges designed to entertain, engage and educate visitors of all ages.
STEM STATIONS
- Mix it Up: Visitors can test their chemistry skill by mixing up their favorite ingredients all while discovering sense of taste
- Dig it Up: Visitors can play paleontologist for the day, while they dig for fossils and survey the Dig Pit, meet a baby triceratops, and explore the Pangea landscape.
- Shine it Up!: The geological station helps visitors unearth the brilliance of gems and crystals. Visitors can collect a handful of sand at the Sand Wall and investigate the beauty of light at the crystal cave.
- Launch it Up! (Rocket Scientist): Here visitors can design, build, launch and race a mini rocket in The Competition Zone; engineer a spacecraft vehicle and design and test flight their own paper airplane design.
- Build It Up! Visitors can learn the fundamentals of engineering by designing a giant ball run on the magnetic wall
- Shake It Up: Visitors can play with seismic activity with a stop by the seismologist station, where they can build a structure and test its strength at the shake table.
Admission to Festival of STEM at DCLA is $15.95 for adults and $13.95 for children 3 to 14 years; free for children under 2 and museum members.
