Dr. Li will see Mandarin and English-speaking patients in Rockville, MD and K-Street Washington, D.C. and provide a full range of state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment options for female and male infertility, elective fertility preservation, fertility preservation prior to cancer treatment, and LGBTQ family building.
Dr. Li has played an instrumental role in helping the practice expand its program for Mandarin-speaking patients by developing a dedicated Mandarin website for domestic patients. This website will provide US-based Mandarin-speaking patients with a resource for understanding the fertility journey and what to expect when receiving fertility care at SGF. An SGF website dedicated to Mandarin-speaking patients traveling to America from abroad is already available, serving the needs of China-based patients who face strict regulation and restrictions around in vitro fertilization (IVF) and more advanced procedures. In addition to high regulation, China faces significant overcrowding in state-run hospitals that are overwhelmed with demand since the country abolished in 2015 its one-child-per-family policy, a population-control measure enacted in 1979.

Sandy Li, M.D. earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in biology and biochemistery before earning a Master of Arts in medical science from Boston University and her Doctorate of Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University.
Dr. Li has received several academic and clinical honors including the Pfizer/SRI President’s Presenter Award, Pacific Coast Reproductive Society Scholarship, and the Charles Hammond Research Fund, and has held various leadership positions as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tufts Medical Center.
Dr. Li is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has published research on a variety of fertility topics including in vitro fertilization, donor egg treatment, and fresh vs. frozen embryo transfers.
