Relief from computer dry eyes can also be had by following the 20-20-20 rule. Look away from your computer screen every twenty minutes for at least twenty seconds and focus on something that is at least twenty feet away. "I always look out at certain trees," says Kleyne. "It's restful to my eyes." One can also play with focus. Focus on an object that is far away for fifteen-to-twenty seconds, then focus on something that is nearby. This strengthens the eye.
Dry eye disease afflicts billions of people worldwide every year. Acute cases can even lead to blindness, which is also out of control globally.
