Ski Racing Legends Partner with Online Middle & High School
(PRWEB) July 16, 2018 -- US Performance Academy (USPA) and International Ski Racing Academy (ISRA) have partnered in order to provide a flexible and accessible educational opportunity for female ski racing athletes in middle and high school who want to pursue their goals of making a national team, or excelling in collegiate ski racing while being challenged academically. Through a combination of mastering fundamentals, directed free skiing, appropriate drills and drill courses, accredited & NCAA approved academics, and the opportunity to live and race in Europe, ISRA will have a tremendous impact on developing successful ski racers. The program’s ultimate goal is to become the “go to” feeder program for the national teams, creating a seamless transition from FIS and Junior level racers to competitors on the Nor Am, Europa Cup, and World Cup circuits.
ISRA is a full-time program with summer camps in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres with the competition period based in Europe. Through their experience coaching both the tech and speed events on the World Cup circuit, ISRA founders Chris Knight and Jeff Fergus have realized that ski racing is rapidly moving in a different direction. With 25 years of national team coaching experience, Knight and Fergus were head coaches for the two most successful American ski racers in history - Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso. They have been on staff for a combined; 7 Olympics, 12 World Championship teams and have been a part of over 50 World Cup victories. Keeping up with the radical evolution in technique and equipment, as well as the changes in approach to conditioning, is a major challenge for any program. Chris and Jeff have the experience, the insight, the connections and the proven track record to bring coaching to the next level.
