SoCal Survival Swim’s Programs Aim to Prevent Infant Drownings
SAN DIEGO (PRWEB) May 29, 2019 -- It happens in an instant. A child falls into a pool unnoticed. There’s no splashing, no sound. In less than 2 ½ seconds he/she is at the bottom of the pool. Sadly, drowning is the number one cause of death in children ages 1-4. Enter SoCal Survival Swim, a lifesaving program that teaches water survival skills to infants as young as 6 months old. In just 4-6 weeks, a child can learn to hold their breath in the water, roll over from a face-down position to a face up back float, float and relax and breathe until rescued. What’s more is they learn to do it with their swimsuits on - and fully clothed – the way most children are dressed when they accidentally fall into a pool.
Although constant supervision is the best way to prevent drowning, learning water survival skills can mean the difference between life and death.
SoCal Survival Swim’s Programs:
Infant Survival Float - 4 days a week for 4 weeks. Private 10-minute lessons.
Swim Float Swim – 4 days a week for 6 weeks. Private 10-minute lessons.
About SoCal Survival Swim: Jessica N. Box was a busy single mom who never forgot a near tragedy in the family – the non-fatal drowning of a cousin. While Jessica worked long hours to support herself and her daughter, she worried her own child could fall victim, because both her child’s caretakers had pools. After enrolling her daughter in swim lessons and seeing how quickly her daughter learned, Jessica decided to become an instructor herself. She’s now a Certified Infant Aquatics Instructor and Owner of SoCal Survival Swimming, Home of Infant Aquatics LLC based out of Temecula, CA. Her goal is to help all children learn to be safe around water.
