Southeastern Printing Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Partnership with Miami Marlins
Company celebrates enduring strategic partnership with South Florida's Major League Baseball Team
STUART, Fla., Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Miami Marlins are a part of Miami's culture – from the state-of-the-art retractable roof stadium becoming a prominent part of the city's skyline, to the two World Series Championships the Marlins brought to the city – it is hard to imagine that just 25 years ago, Miami did not have a major league baseball team.
Ever since Opening Day on April 5th, 1993, Franklin Communications, the printing company acquired by Southeastern, has been on the front lines with the Marlins handling the team's printing needs.
"By 1993, our team had already been providing printing services for the Miami Dolphins and had a proven track record for understanding the unique demands of sports organizations, like meeting impossible deadlines and no-fail delivery," said Pete Dunne, former President of Franklin Communications and Strategic Sales Executive for Southeastern. "When someone in a sports organization has a great idea and they want it by game day, it has to happen by game day – that's it."
One of the first projects for the Marlins was printing the inaugural Opening Day Program. To accommodate the sellout crowd of 42,334 spectators and collectors, 150,000 programs were printed and delivered. Fans were seen carrying cartons of programs on their shoulders in anticipation of their collector value.
Since that first Opening Day, the Marlins and Southeastern have enjoyed a 25-year partnership.
Most recently, Southeastern helped the Marlins organization to prepare for the inaugural game of the 2018 season. Well in advance of Opening Day, members of Southeastern's team met with the Marlins' organization to discuss their needs to anticipate deadlines and prepare ahead of schedule. The team at Southeastern got proactive, opting to measure each kiosk, stand, banner location and directional signage opportunity in advance of any orders to facilitate ease of production. The result – over 30 projects processed in a week's time and over 100 wide format items installed in just three days.
While a lot has changed over the 25 years, the Marlins' printing needs haven't changed all that much. Deadlines are just as frequent while no-fail delivery is still of the utmost importance. Much like back in 1993, Southeastern still handles all game day giveaway posters, pocket schedules, season ticket renewal packages. From the first major league baseball game in South Florida in 1993 to today, Southeastern is proud to be the Official Printer for the Miami Marlins.
