Find your way on the ferry:
Travelers coming from the northeast can drive or hop aboard the Cape May-Lewes Ferry with dogs in tow to make the 17-mile, 85-minute trip from New Jersey to historic Lewes. Leashed pets are welcome on all exterior decks, where you can sit back, relax, and cut down on drive time. Upon arrival at the Lewes Terminal, Grain on the Rocks is a fantastic pet-friendly destination for lunch or dinner, with water views and live entertainment.
Restaurants and Breweries:
From breweries to beachside eats, leashed dogs are welcome to dine outside along with their families in more than forty locations all along the Culinary Coast™. Crooked Hammock, Big Oyster Brewery and Thompson Island Brewing Co. all feature expansive outdoor spaces, craft brews and modern American menus. Meanwhile, other patios and decks that welcome pets include Nalu Surf Bar, Matt's Fish Camp, Purple Parrot, Bethany Blues. Accommodations:
Beyond dog-friendly, Canalside Inn in Rehoboth Beach has a furry mascot, a rescued husky named Sky, who can be seen around the property soaking up the sun. The hotel asks guests to submit their pup to their K-9 Hall of Fame , and welcomes pups with doggie treats and towels along with special accommodations and an outdoor shower to rinse the sand.
