Spoon Hopes New Interactive Show Soothes Nation's Nerves
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A friendly voice in the darkness telling you that everything is going to be okay...
This is how award-winning T.V. and comic book writer Amanda Deibert (He-Man, Teen Titans Go!, Wonder Woman) became known as one of the most reassuring and friendly personalities on social media. Now Spoon, the world's leading audio live stream platform, hopes to replicate this feeling by giving Amanda her own interactive show called "Cafe at the End of the World."
Amanda says the title came from an idyllic vision of, "a place to curl up with a beverage and take a break from the constant chaos and stress this year has brought. It's not denying that life is hard right now, but rather a place to connect with others and remind ourselves of the reasons life can be wonderful."
Every Monday at 8 p.m. P.T. listeners will find Cafe a safe and positive place to feel seen and be heard. Amanda will ask the same fun and thought-provoking questions that she does on Twitter, but now she'll be able to bring her audience into the show.
VP, Fernando Pizarro explains, "One of the most exciting aspects of Spoon is that the audience quickly becomes a part of the programming. You never quite know what will happen next but it's always authentic and interesting."
A typical group discussion could be:
- How are you coping with the pandemic?
- Name how a recent person, place, or thing made your life easier or better?
- What's something you've done this week that you're really proud of?
Her ultimate goal is to lift people up and let them know they no matter what's going on in their life, they aren't alone. While Amanda wants to fill people with a little more personal worth and self-confidence, it's not all just positive affirmations. She also plans on dishing out firm but friendly advice and discussing some of the craziest relationship issues that pop up online.
Producer Clint Sears sums it up by saying, "It's a fun and engaging show about all the things that make us human and bring us together. I feel like with everything we've been through in 2020, Amanda is nothing short of a soothing balm to our collective soul."
It won't always be just Amanda and her fans either, occasionally they'll be joined with special guests like renowned voice-over actress, Cissy Jones (Half Life, Last of Us), GLOW's Rebekkah Johnson, Wonder Woman 84's dialect coach, Samara Bay and many more.
To take part in the weekly live stream, audience members can download the Spoon app spoonrad.io/cafe and tune into "Cafe at the End of the World" Mondays at 8 p.m. P.T.
Listeners can also find a streamlined version of the show everywhere podcasts are available, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
