Spring Issue of Foresight Published
BRONX, N.Y. (PRWEB) April 04, 2019 -- Calvary has just published the first-ever spring issue of the Hospital’s planned giving newsletter, Foresight. It contains a comprehensive article about why doing a will is important for every adult, details about National Healthcare Decisions Day (April 16), and profiles of four donors: Bonnie Brennan, Ketly Wright, Daniel J. Arciola, Jr., and MaryAnne Gilmartin.
According to Judith D. Grimaldi, Esq. CELA, MSW, who penned the Foresight article regarding wills, many people may think it best to leave their will up to their would-be heirs. However, under New York State Law, the state can write a will for you upon your passing. Since the state will not want things to drag on, it will be a straightforward will that should make for a smooth probate process. However, it may not be very personal, meaning all of the wishes that you would have included may be not in the end. This is known as “passing by intestacy.” No matter how simple or complex your will ends up being, the important thing is to have one on file.
The article is all part of Calvary Hospital’s efforts to raise awareness of this issue as part of National Healthcare Decisions Day. Calvary is encouraging not only its patients, but also the general population about the importance of taking charge of your healthcare decisions. The hospital can help with many resources regarding health care proxy, living wills, and Advance Care Directives.
The entire spring edition of Foresight is available on Calvary’s website. https://www.calvaryhospital.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/CH2019_Sprng_Foresight_FINAL.pdf
