Fate gave Ellis a big challenge when she was pulled back into the role of the dutiful daughter, when her mother succumbed to dementia. For years, she became her mother's full-time caregiver, getting used to the stress and exhaustion.

About the Author
Graduating from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in math, Laura Ruth Ellis relocated from Massachusetts to Orlando with a corporate move. She moved to Madeira Beach to live by the coast when her first baby was born. Being a stay-at-home mom was her primary role until her writing dream emerged. Ellis' role as her mother's caregiver provided her with a transformation toward becoming a writer. She lives with her husband in Madeira Beach as her writing continues.
