Shelf Unbound magazine announces the 8th Annual Shelf Unbound Competition for Best Indie/Self-Published Book is now open for submissions.
MILWAUKEE, Aug. 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Shelf Unbound magazine announces the 8th Annual Shelf Unbound Competition for Best Indie/Self-Published Book is now open for submissions. Shelf Unbound Indie Best Contest was established in 2010 to recognize and celebrate exceptional contributions from talented authors across the globe.
The author of the book named as the Best Independently Published book will receive a year's worth of full-page ads in Shelf Unbound (rate card value of $4,000) and editorial coverage in the December/January 2020 issue of Shelf Unbound.
Five finalists will receive editorial coverage in the December/January 2020 issue of Shelf Unbound. More than 100 books deemed by the editors as "notable" entries in the competition will also be featured in the December/January 2020 issue of Shelf Unbound.
The competition also included the Pete Delohery Award for Best Sports Book, open to fiction and non-fiction sports-related books, in honor of Pete Delohery, author of the novel Lamb to the Slaughter. The winner of the Pete Delohery Award for Best Sports Book will receive $1,000.
Entry fee is $100 per book. Any independently published or small press book in any genre is eligible for entry. The winning entry will be selected by the editors of Shelf Unbound magazine. Books entered in last year's competition are eligible for re-submission in this year's competition. There is no limit to the number of books an individual can enter; each book is a separate entry. The competition is open to authors worldwide; books must be in English. Any length book is eligible. The deadline for entry is midnight on October 1, 2019. The winners will be notified by November 30, 2019.
