Superior Recreational Products Nominated for 2019 Georgia Manufacturer of the Year
CARROLLTON, Ga. (PRWEB) April 17, 2019 -- Superior Recreational Products (SRP) was nominated by West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) for the 2019 Manufacturer of the Year in the Medium Manufacturer category.
In order to be nominated, companies must meet a minimum requirement of having been in business for three years. Selected nominees were chosen for their positive economic impact, corporate responsibility, and workforce excellence.
WGTC chose to nominate SRP to recognize their ability to recover after a tragic fire destroyed one of their manufacturing facilities in July 2018. While the fire was devastating and affected approximately 27 percent of employees, there were no jobs lost due to the fire. WGTC provided training assistance in a variety of classes, so employees remained engaged during the rebuild process.
“It was our joint aspiration that either the SRP team member would be a better employee after the training or a better employee for the next company they would work for. I believe West GA Tech saw the commitment to better the lives our co-workers and nominated SRP due to this initiative,” General Manager and Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jonathan Hardesty said.
Winners of the twenty-fourth annual Manufacturer Awards will be announced at the 2019 Governor’s Awards Luncheon on April 18 at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park, Ga.
