Taelor, a Menswear Rental Subscription Service, Now Offering Shirts Made Out of Recycled Plastic & Coffee Grounds
Taelor, a men's clothing rental subscription service, announces its partnership with TRANZEND, a maker of men's shirts made out of recycled plastic and coffee grounds.
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 12, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Taelor, a men's clothing rental service, is excited to announce that it has recently signed a partnership with TRANZEND, a U.K.-based company that makes shirts and suits made out of recycled materials.
Made out of recycled plastic bottles and coffee grounds, TRANZEND's Ultra Shirt is waterproof and ultra-stretchable. This motion-adaptive, all-day shirt is made with magnetic cuffs, laser cut vents, ultrasonic sewing and many advanced technologies, including thermal regulation. The shirt will be available to the public on Kickstarter this month.
Founded in the U.K., TRANZEND has been popular in Asian countries, such as Taiwan. TRANZEND's founder, William Chen, says, "Our goal at TRANZEND is to produce stylish yet timeless and sustainable clothing by implementing advanced material technology into unique, versatile designs."
"At Taelor, we're committed to helping make the fashion industry more sustainable by giving people the opportunity to rent their clothes rather than buy them. So we were thrilled to partner with TRANZEND to be able to offer their eco-friendly shirts to our customers to do even more to support sustainable practices," says Taelor's CEO Anya Cheng.
Taelor is a men's clothing rental company that aims to help men look and feel great every day while also reducing their carbon footprint. For a flat fee of $69.99 per month, customers get two boxes of shirts per month, which include four shirts in each box. The clothes are shipped directly to customers, who can either wear them for two weeks and return them or purchase them for up to 70% off the regular retail price. Customers then receive another box of clothes. Dry cleaning and shipping is free both ways.
Taelor's customers also receive ongoing personal styling, including a consultation with one of Taelor's professional stylists, and the stylists, along with Artificial Intelligence, select clothes for the customers based on their sizes and personal preferences.
Taelor offers a wide variety of tried-and-true looks from popular, mainstream menswear clothing brands, as well as more unique items from independent designers, including Modern Liberation, [REESEDELUCA], Barque New York, TAGS and TRANZEND.
The company launched its pilot program in June and is currently offering a free 30-day trial for anyone who wears size medium shirts who signs up for the monthly membership. Memberships may be cancelled at any time. Customers can sign up for the free trial with the code NYFASHION2021 or can be added to a waitlist when more clothing sizes are introduced at https://taelor.style.
According to the The Future of Circular Fashion Report by Fashion for Good, circular fashion, which includes rental, rental subscription, and recommerce, has a high impact in sustainability, while a typical subscription box potentially leads to higher waste. The British Fashion Council also showed that a 5% to 10% reduction in a garment's waste has been shown to be attainable by extending its lifetime by three months.
"Our goal is to provide individuals with stylish, everyday menswear, and help the environment at the same time, as renting items is more eco-friendly than purchasing new items," Cheng says.
Cheng is a Taiwanese American who previously built and headed up the social commerce product team for Facebook and the mobile tablet e-commerce team for Target.
