Teq's OTIS for Educators and iBlocks Meet ESSA Level IV of evidence standards under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
Teq leveraged third-party, LearnPlatform, to build trustworthy, reliable edtech evidence base for districts and state education organizations
HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y., Dec. 12, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Teq today announced that its OTIS for Educators online professional development (PD) and iBlocks project-based learning (PBL) solutions meet the "Tier 4 – Demonstrates a Rationale" level of evidence under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). ESSA requires federal funding and stimulus dollars to be used for "evidence-based interventions."
Now, as a provider of certified, evidence-based programs, Teq is among the industry leaders able to empower schools, districts and states to buy and use their solution to drive student outcomes. Teq worked with LearnPlatform, leveraging their third-party Evidence-as-a-Service offering, to complete this research work.
"We have always been confident that our solution improves pedagogy by increasing educator's skill sets and knowledge of instructional strategies so they can effectively integrate them into their lessons," said Chrissy Long, VP of Global Instructional Solutions at Teq. "With LearnPlatform, we found a fast, practical approach that helps our state, district, and school partners have confidence in what we do – and what we will do together – to reach their goals. Producing and sharing evidence more regularly should be the expectation, not the exception."
Given the influx of stimulus funds for nearly two years, this type of evaluation provides Teq with valuable evidence about the effectiveness of its education technology and PBL services. Administrators can apply this evidence to inform their decisions and establish a solid foundation for sustainable, long-range financial planning.
"Rigorous, practical evaluation that aids real-time educational decision-making is critical," said Mary Styers, PhD, Research Director at LearnPlatform. "By demonstrating their rationale with a logic model and supporting literature, Teq has shown their commitment to building an evidence base and working toward better STEM and SEL outcomes for students, teachers, and administrators."
