Terry Savage Elected President of the Society for Health Communication

ROCKVILLE, Md. (PRWEB) February 10, 2020 -- Terry Savage, a Westat Vice President in the Public Health and Epidemiology Practice, has been elected president of the Society for Health Communication for 2020. Ms. Savage leads Westat’s Health Communications Group where she and her team develop and implement award-winning, research-driven Federal social marketing campaigns and health education programs that increase knowledge, inform attitudes, and change health behaviors.

“In Terry, we have found a leader with deep and rich experience in research-driven health communications and social marketing efforts that have made a difference in the lives of millions of Americans. We look forward to working with her to support our members and chart a path forward for the Society, as an important means to advance the field,” said Tony Foleno, Senior Vice President of Strategy & Evaluation at the Ad Council, outgoing president of the Society.

Ms. Savage will work closely with the Society’s leadership team to grow the organization, offer additional resources and services to members, and explore new and innovative ways to show the impact of health communication. Ms. Savage is also committed to helping the Society bridge the gaps between public health, health care, digital health, academia, and the research communities.
