The Company Store Donates More Than $1,200,000 Worth of Product to Protect Health Care Workers
The Company Store Donates to COVID-19 Relief
NEW YORK, May 1, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- As the whole world battles the COVID-19 pandemic, The Company Store is stepping up to help. The online retailer known for its premium bed linens, has donated more than 10,000 units or $1,200,000 worth of their bedding products which are being made into more than 500,000 masks for health care workers.
To make the masks, The Company Store teamed up with Project Runway alumni Amanda Perna, Pamela Barsky, and Michael Costello, all of whom are sewing masks for first responders. They've also donated to sewing organizations across the country such as TX N95, Quilting for a Cause, NJ Masks, Sewing Masks for Atlanta Hospitals, Sewers of Southwest Wisconsin, and more.
"For most of us, our most important job is to simply stay home, but while we are safe at home others are on the frontline battling COVID-19. We are humbled by their service and want to do whatever we can to help them," said CEO Corinne Bentzen. "It feels good to be able to do something and provide our health care heroes with safety and some level of comfort."
In addition to creating face masks, The Company Store has donated more than 900 units of bedding and bath products such as towels, sheets, comforters, blankets, and slippers to hospital staff rooms to help support front line workers in highly affected areas, including Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, NY and St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ.
"Many of these essential workers are staying at the hospitals 24/7 in order to protect their families at home. Giving them a comfortable place to rest in between their long shifts is the very least we can do," Bentzen added.
The Company Store is also thinking of those who don't have a home to stay safe in during these hard times and has donated more than 250 units of pillows to shelters in the tri-state area including The Bowery Mission and The Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter.
