The Hollywood Roosevelt Launches "On the Fringe" by Tracy Phillips at The Roosevelt Theater
Famed Hollywood Hotel Furthers Reputation as a Purveyor of Coveted Partnerships and Events with Bi-Weekly Cabaret-Style Residency Produced by Iconic Hollywood Choreographer Tracy Phillips
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Hollywood Roosevelt announced today the implementation of a high-energy, rock and roll, punk Cabaret called "On the Fringe" by Tracy Phillips to take place bi-weekly on Thursday evenings throughout 2020. The show launching on February 13, is produced by Hollywood's leading choreographer for edginess and provocation, Tracy Phillips. The two-hour intimate, unpredictable, immersive performance explores different subcultures ranging from geishas to flappers to beatniks and more throughout the last century in an empowering and sexy manner.
"Our show at The Hollywood Roosevelt is an original, immersive, and artistic experience all together. Just as someone interprets an art piece, I would like everyone to have their own individual interpretation of the show," said Tracy Phillips. As for what guests can expect, Phillips said, "We wanted to shine a light on fringe groups of the past and present."
The new show is a high-octane whirlwind that titillates as much as it inspires, with extraordinary dancers stomping on tables, hanging from ceilings, teasing and provoking both men and women. A surprise and delight experience in the Hollywood Roosevelt's historic theater, the 15-minute intermission will feature random celebrities and entertainers, though you won't find out who's performing until you get there. Guests will be treated to an array of music from different eras such as Koko Taylor, The B-52's, Fiona Apple and Bat for Lashes. For those seeking liquid sustenance, Roosevelt Theater offers a specially curated cocktail menu befitting the show, such as the Stage Kitten featuring vodka, Blue Curacao, cranberry and cherry bitters and The Fringe 75, which include gin, Prosecco passionfruit puree and edible flowers.
Known in Hollywood as the curator of thrilling and unique experiences, The Hollywood Roosevelt is kicking off 2020 with an exciting roster of events including The Magic Show with Franco Pascali, a Jazz Symposium bi-monthly concert series which performs complete masterpieces from legends such as Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis and John Coltrane, and high-caliber Comedy Shows produced by esteemed comedic powerhouse, Jay Davis, featuring a rotating coterie of well-known comedians.
"At The Hollywood Roosevelt, we aim to offer guests first-rate experiences unattainable anywhere else," said Don Jacinto, Regional Vice President of Journal Hotels and Managing Director of The Hollywood Roosevelt. "With the upcoming lineup in the Roosevelt Theater, The Hollywood Roosevelt continues its reputation as a purveyor of unexpected entertainment experiences fusing Hollywood history, culture and the arts."
"On the Fringe" by Tracy Phillips at The Hollywood Roosevelt will open to the public on Thursday, February 13 with bi-weekly performances on Thursday evenings, potentially shifting to weekly showtimes.
