The Trade Group Triumphs as General Contractor for 2018 Evo Championship Series Esports Event
DALLAS (PRWEB) August 23, 2018 -- As they have for more than two decades, thousands of fighting game fans of all ages gathered to compete and interact with likeminded fans at the 2018 Evo Championship Series esports event. This year’s event drew approximately 12,000 attendees over Evo weekend, with 10,000 unique entrants across the eight main titles and 8,000 individual competitors representing 68 countries.
The Evo show continues to grow year to year, and after a successful partnership in 2017, Evo once again chose The Trade Group to serve as general contractor for the three-day event.
According to Hillary Fluster, Event Account Specialist at The Trade Group, Evo chose The Trade Group to plan and execute the event, because, “Last year, we demonstrated that we are the go-to resource for show management in the esports world. Evo also had a tight, three-week deadline to plan the show, just as they did in 2017. Since we have great relationships with local vendors, service providers and the Mandalay Bay, the planning process went extremely smooth.”
As general contractor, The Trade Group was responsible for all show management responsibilities, including exhibitor services (before, during and after the show), exhibit hall management, logistics, labor liaison duties and vendor management. As with the planning period, the turnaround time for set-up, installation and dismantle was also very tight.
“Time was of the essence. Our team ensured exhibitors received all items they ordered for their booths in a timely manner – from carpet to tables to labor and everything in between. For the exhibit hall, we completed move in of all tables, chairs, stages, exhibit booths, gaming stations, pipe and drape and more in 24 hours. We also managed a team of laborers to help get everything set up on time and to ensure move in and out stayed on schedule,” Fluster says.
In addition, The Trade Group oversaw the docks and delivery of incoming freight to the appropriate exhibitor spaces. The team also worked directly with the stage and lighting vendor for Mandalay, along with the electricity and internet/AV providers to make sure the exhibit hall and tournament space were up and running on schedule.
Fluster credits the team’s two-year collaboration with Evo for the smooth execution of this year’s event. As she explains, “Evo continues to grow each year, and they needed an even bigger space this year to allow for more exhibitors and gaming stations. The Evo organizers were extremely happy with their decision to hire TTG for a second year in a row, because we were able to take what we learned last year and execute an even more successful show in 2018.”
