The Twisted Tuna Goes GREEN With New Biodegradable Straws!
Stuart, FL (PRWEB) July 01, 2018 -- The largest waterfront restaurant in Martin County Florida continues to set the example for others to follow. The Twisted Tuna has ditched its use of plastic straws once and for all in exchange for new eco friendly biodegradable ones. The change comes as the owners and managers together have tried to come up with new ways to help protect the environment in which they live and work.
"As waterfront restaurant owners we are always looking out for ways to reduce our impact on the environment. We currently recycle all our cardboard and we participate weekly in the Florida Oceanographic Oyster Restoration Program. These new green straws will help us as we continue our path to sustainability. For now, they are more expensive than traditional plastic straws, but we feel they are well worth it.” Said Rachelle Risley
Mrs. Risley and her husband Kenny have owned and operated several restaurants and bars throughout Florida and each have more than 25 years of experience in the biz. Their son Billy is also an owner and manager at the landmark eatery and he helps maintain the expansive waterfront property.
“We serve thousands of guests here at this beautiful location each and every week so we know just how important it is to preserve the natural environment around us. We live on the water nearby and we are members of the Coastal Conservation Association as well. For us the decision to switch to the new green straws was an easy one.” Said Kenny.
The Twisted Tuna employs about 100 people at its Stuart location and actively donates to and participates in several local charities and events throughout each year.
