HOUSTON, March 27, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Following September 2018 authorization to export to Free Trade Agreement (FTA) countries, the United States Department of Energy (DOE) has approved MPL's application to export to non-FTA countries. The authorizations allow Mexico Pacific Limited (MPL) to export US gas to Mexico and to export such gas from Mexico in the form of liquified natural gas (LNG). The conversion from a US gas to Mexican LNG product will take place at the MPL owned facility at Puerto Libertad, in the state of Sonora on the Pacific coast of Mexico.

Leveraging existing pipeline routes to liquefy low cost U.S. shale gas on the Pacific coast of Mexico, the FTA and Non-FTA authorizations reinforce MPL's supply synergy with Asia Pacific customers.
