Nurses are heroic caregivers but are also vulnerable to traumatic stressors and the toll they take on operational and clinical effectiveness. Dr. Parker is a fellow of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, president of the American Board for Certification of Clinical Education and Training, assistant professor adjunct at the University of Texas Health Science Center, and is certified in Illness (Medical) Trauma and Forensic Traumatology.
