Treeline Terrains Launches Crowdfunding Campaign to Fund Larger Workshop
Treeline Terrains, a topographic 3D map business, launched its first crowdfunding campaign.
MIDDLEBURY, Vt., Nov. 25, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Topographic 3D maps business Treeline Terrains today announced the launch of its first crowdfunding campaign. The $15,000 in funding will help purchase machinery to outfit a larger workshop the growing small business will move to. Backers will claim rewards such as a topographic 3D map of Vermont or an epoxy resin wall art of Lake Champlain.
"We want to thank our generous friends and supporters who have lent us tools and space, at little to no cost, for the last year," stated co-founder Alex Gemme. "Thanks to our community's support, Treeline Terrains has grown from a college passion project to a full-time Vermont business."
In one year, Treeline Terrains hired two part-time (paid) interns, purchased more CNC machinery, and added a laser engraver to the shop. Gemme explains, "we've outgrown our current space, which includes basic woodworking tools. But for the new workshop, we have to purchase all the tools ourselves–hence the Kickstarter campaign."
How Else Does This Funding Help
The crowdfunding campaign allows backers to pledge $15 to over $1,000. The funds will help Treeline Terrains outfit a larger workshop with power tools, workbenches, and a state-of-the-art dust collection system. Backers will help fund a table saw, chop saw, joiner, planer, shaper, belt sander, and drill press so the business can grow beyond the tiny space it currently leases.
The funding will also support work with non-profits to create public-facing topographic maps. For instance, Treeline Terrains partnered with Vermont Adaptive to create a topographic 3D trail map of Sugarbush Resort for visually impaired skiers to interact with the ski mountain in an entirely new way.
