UFC Legend Rashad Evans Non-Profit Organization Launches School Gym Restoration Project
Rashad Evans Non-profit organization AlwaysProgress.org and Akila leadership team has launched their online crowdfunding campaign dedicated to raising money for North Miami Senior High School gymnasium restoration.
MIAMI, July 23, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, AlwaysProgress.org and AKILA leadership team from Miami has launched their online crowdfunding campaign dedicated to raising money for North Miami Senior High School gymnasium restoration.
This new online fundraiser focuses on AlwaysProgress.org's mission of mentoring our youth and renovating school gyms in low income and at-risk communities. Always Progress and AKILA plan to restore or replace non-working machines, paint, renovate and improve the gym interior with artificial turf and inspirational quotes to create a positive atmosphere for current and future students at North Miami Senior High School. Their goal is to raise $45,000 by August 1 and so far on the first day of its launch they already raised over $6,000.
This campaign means a lot to UFC Hall of Fame former light heavyweight champion and AlwaysProgress.org Chairman Rashad Evans. "The gym saved my life; without the gym, I wouldn't be here right now. I wouldn't be a former UFC champion, and I wouldn't be a worldwide known athlete without the impact of the gym in my life. AlwaysProgress.org's Legacy project is doing something amazing!" said Rashad Evans.
Summer season is the dangerous period when the percentage of crime and vandalism within low-income communities significantly increases as youth find themselves bored with nothing to do and with not many options to consider. This school gym renovation process will help the community by keeping these children focused on something positive and improving the lives of all the current and future student-athletes.
The program aims to create tremendous impact and become a national movement by involving various celebrities, athletes, community leaders, multiple local and national businesses.
